Froilán González was one of the most colorful drivers of the 1950s, as well as close friend of his Argentinean countryman Juan Manuel Fangio. This new book tells the story of González from his earliest days in Argentina through the years of his great success in Europe, especially as a driver for Ferrari where he won both Ferrari’s first Championship F.1 race and the Le Mans 24 Hours. It incorporates many photographs never published before from important archives in Argentina, as well as a number of images from The Klemantaski Collection. The authors are Guillermo S. Iacona, Hernán López Laiseca and J. C. Pérez Loizeau in cooperation with the famous archive of Dr. Vincente Alvarez in Buenos Aires. This outstanding effort includes a sensitive Foreword by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo of Ferrari. This limited edition of José Froilán González – The Pampas Bull was created exclusively for The Klemantaski Collection. It comes with a beautiful slipcase covered in natural Argentinean rawhide leather which is so entirely appropriate for “El Cabezón.” The book measures 9.25 x 10 inches and has 184 pages with 170 photographs and includes González’ complete racing record. The text is in both Spanish and English. This special edition is limited to only 65 numbered copies and is sure to be a prized collector’s item in the years ahead.
