| The field on the warm up lap before the start, led by the Ferrari 312PBs of Ronnie Peterson (on pole, co-driving with Tim Schenken) and Mario Andretti (co-driving with Jacky Ickx). Behind Peterson is the Mirage-Ford-Cosworth M6 driven by Derek Bell and Carlos Pace with the third Ferrari 312PB behind Andretti, driven by Brian Redman and Arturo Merzario. The front row was reversed at the finish, followed by the Bell/Pace Mirage while the Redman/Merzario Ferrari retired due to an accident. |
