| The front row for the 1971 Indy 500: Peter Revson (right) on pole with a works McLaren-Offy would finish second; Mark Donohue with a Penske McLaren-Offy in the center led for over 50 laps but retired with gearbox failure, being classified 25th; and Bobby Unser in an Olsonite Eagle-Offy was on the outside and led some 20 laps but was involved in a late race accident and ended up classified 12th. |
