| Jim Clark in his Lotus 49. He qualified on pole and led the first third of the race until overtaken by his teammate Graham Hill. However, at two-thirds distance Hill had a suspension failure which sent him into the pits for a repair, eventually to retire with engine failure. Clark regained the lead and cruised to the win. |
