| Stirling Moss about to go out for practice in one of the three DBR1s which had been brought by Aston for an all-out assault on this race, and a chance to win the World Championship for sports cars. Moss had just delivered a major victory for them at the Nürburgring and although he retired at Le Mans, Aston’s other two cars took the top two places, setting the stage for winning it all at Goodwood, which Aston did. |
