| The start, with Stirling Moss’ Vanwall in a slight lead over the Maserati of Juan Manuel Fangio, on pole, and the Ferrari of Peter Collins. Moss, Collins and Mike Hawthorn were all eliminated in a fourth lap crash at the Chicane and Fangio went on to a decisive win. |
