| Ak Miller (l.) is introduced to French ace Louis Chiron. Miller would finish seventh in his Iron Horse, almost 14 minutes ahead of Chiron’s O.S.C.A. Between them is Miller’s friend and sponsor R. E. “Pete” Petersen, who founded Hot Rod magazine in 1948 and eventually became the biggest publisher of motoring magazines in the world. In the background can be seen the Porsche which Hans Herrmann drove to a remarkable third place overall. |
