| Gilles Villeneuve’s Ferrari 312T/3 leads Mario Andretti’s Lotus 79 into the Ascari chicane. Each driver had been penalized 60 seconds for jumping the start, but they continued to race each other, leading the field all the way with Andretti finishing just in front of Villeneuve. They were classified as 6th and 7th. |
