| Jochen Rindt with the Lotus 49 coming out of Gazomètre. He did not qualify well but slowly moved up the field during the race until he was running second to Jack Brabham. On the last lap with Rindt pressing him hard, Brabham slid off into the barriers on this same corner and Rindt came through to win, setting a new lap record on his final lap. |
