| Tires spinning, the front row of the grid accelerates away. Jochen Rindt is on pole with the Lotus 49 with Jackie Stewart’s Matra MS80 in the center and Denis Hulme’s McLaren M7A on the far side. Rindt and Stewart had a huge battle for the lead with the win finally going to Stewart after Rindt had to stop for a dash of fuel. |
