| The Ford GT40 driven by Masten Gregory and Sir John Whitmore under Essex Wire sponsorship. They had a plan to win and very nearly pulled it off, but a late race need for a splash of fuel dropped them a lap down to second behind the winning Ferrari 330P3 of John Surtees and Michael Parkes. |
