| Richard Attwood in the Ford V8-powered Lola Mark VI GT, forerunner to the GT40. There had not been enough testing and the car was very undergeared for Le Mans. The gearbox gave lots of problems and was most likely responsible for sending Hobbs off the road to retire. But Ford was impressed and the GT40 was the result. |
