The Targa Florio, Sicily, May 6, 1962
Reference #: 62PC1E-9

In practice, Phil Hill had his Ferrari 268SP suffer a stuck throttle as he was getting set for a corner. Hill locked up the brakes, but the car shot of an embankment and was badly damaged. Here Hill tries to explain what happened. Eugenio Dragoni, Ferrari’s Team Manager, who always was looking for ways to push ahead his countryman Lorenzo Bandini, decided to disbelieve Hill’s account and eliminated him from the Ferrari team at the Targa.
