The French Grand Prix; Reims, July 2, 1961
Reference #: 61M5F-14

Phil Hill takes a drink from his in-car water bottle as he accelerates away from the slow Thillois corner at the head of the long pit straight. He led the race for many laps until he stalled his engine when spinning on the slick surface at Thillois. After Wolfgang von Trips and Richie Ginther retired, Giancarlo Baghetti in the fourth Ferrari came through to win by two feet from Dan Gurney’s Porsche.
