| This race, the oldest in the United Kingdom, had now been organized for GT cars, modifying its former status as an international sports car race. Six Ferrari 250GT SWBs (eight were originally entered) squared off against two Aston Martin DB4GTs. Stirling Moss, having now recovered from his serious practice crash at the Belgian Grand Prix, walked away with the win, followed by the two Astons. Moss claimed that he had spent the race listening to the radio in the Rob Walker 250GT (note the radio antenna!). |
