A new face at Ferrari: Tony Brooks took over the duties in the 246/F1, now with high cockpit sides, along with Frenchman Jean Behra and American Phil Hill. On a broiling hot day Brooks was supreme and used the Ferrari’s top speed to best advantage. Hill came second and Jack Brabham’s Cooper third. Behra stalled at the start and recovered well but had his engine fail.
