The lovely Ferrari 246/F1 team cars lined up for practice in the Zandvoort paddock behind the pits. N. 4 was the car of Peter Collins, while Mike Hawthorn had n. 5 and Luigi Musso n. 6. The Ferraris, never on the pace, were completely outclassed by the Vanwalls as well as the B.R.M.s. Hawthorn managed fifth, a lap down, with Musso seventh two laps in arrears while Collins retired at half-distance when he spun and stalled his engine. Nevertheless, these cars were indeed beautiful.
