| This is an unusual view of the Vanwall of Stuart Lewis-Evans which emphasizes the beautiful slipperiness of Mike Costin’s design as the car drifts away from the camera. Lewis-Evans qualified on pole, ahead of his more highly rated teammates Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks who filled out the front row of the grid. In the race Lewis-Evans suffered a massive engine blowup while Moss went on to win decisively by over 45 sec. |
