| Stirling Moss roars down the harbor straight early in the race with his Vanwall showing its cut off nose for better cooling on this slow circuit. On the fourth lap Moss overshot his braking and hit the barriers at the Chicane. This caused the barricades to fly all over the place and caused the Ferraris of both Peter Collins and Mike Hawthorn to crash as well. Fortunately, no one was hurt. |
