| Juan Manuel Fangio pulls out of the pits on the 36th lap in the car started by Peter Collins. Earlier, Fangio’s car had failed (it was eventually taken over by Castellotti) and he was stranded in the pits. Collins gave up his chances at the Championship by giving his car to Fangio who won it by finishing second in the race. |
