| Harry Schell at “full chat” past the pits during practice in the Vanwall which would be started by Mike Hawthorn. Hawthorn was tired after the 12 hour sports car race which had started at midnight and turned his car over to Schell. Schell came back right through the field to second place until slowed by throttle linkage problems. But Vanwall had showed they had the speed. |
