| The Ferrari team in the pits before the start. These were 2.5 liter cars as the organizers were trying to reduce speeds after the terrible accident in 1955. One of the drivers, Alfonso de Portago is approaching the n. 10 car which will be driven by Phil Hill and André Simon. Hill is leaning against the right front fender of car n. 10 with his back to the camera. Portago drove n. 11 but was involved in the accident on the second lap in the Esses which eliminated several cars, including his Ferrari. |
