| A long day for this Ferrari. Eugenio Castellotti started out in n. 3 but eventually had a big spin and damaged the nose. He then turned the car over to Alfonso de Portago who had already given up his original car to Peter Collins. The officials questioned the race-worthiness of Castellotti’s car but finally allowed de Portago to take it out, however the Spaniard ended up having to push it across the finish line. |
