| Alfonso de Portago leaps into the car he was taking over from Eugenio Castellotti who is removing his helmet behind de Portago. The Spanish driver had earlier given his own car up to Peter Collins. Castellotti was right to turn the car over to de Portago as it only lasted two more laps and de Portago had to push it over the finish line. As the drivers change places Juan Manuel Fangio’s girlfriend Andrea Berruet stands watch behind the pit counter. |
