| Eugenio Castellotti (behind the car) arrived at Ravenna in the lead with his Ferrari 121LM, having averaged over 120 mph for the 189 miles from Brescia. The rear tires had taken a beating and had to be changed. More than the tires must have taken a beating, because Castellotti had to retire before Pescara, only some 15 miles further on. |
