| Mike Hawthorn, always enjoying a good time, having some fun with the officials with a magazine photo of a naked lady. In spite of this bit of amusement and qualifying one second slower than Ken Wharton’s Cooper-Bristol (n. 36), Hawthorn won this heat by a second from Wharton and went on to win the final as well. The Simca-Gordini at the far side (n. 2) is being driven by Maurice Trintignant. |
