José Froilán González discusses the upcoming race on the starting grid with his countryman, Onofre Marimon. Juan Manuel Fangio, riving an Alfa Romeo, is with his back to the camera. The Ferrari 375/F1 of González stands in the foreground. Actually the car given to González was an older 1950 chassis with a single-ignition motor, while Villoresi and Ascari had newer cars with twin-ignition.
