Other Variations

The two Mercedes-Benz W196 streamliners driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Karl Kling accelerating down the main straight from Thillois toward the start/finish line and the distant tribunes. They completely dominated the race, Mercedes’ first return to Grand Prix racing and Reims since 1939 when they had also won in equaling convincing style. This photograph gives a superb feeling for the very high speed Reims circuit.
